Collaborating with us is very elastic, based on the needs of the artist. We encourage the artists to participate in the process; teaching technique and lending our expertise when needed.

Working with our team can be as simple as having us rough out a work by hand or using robotics, with the artist completing the work or having our team produce the entire sculpture under the guidance of the artist.

What is important is the collaboration between the artisans and the artist; without this, the artisans would slowly disappear and it is our aim to keep the craft of carving alive. For this reason we don’t rent spaces to artists who want to work on their own with no collaboration from the team.

We do use robotics when appropriate for some work. Some sculptures are too intricate or difficult for the robot and need to be produced by hand, while other works lend themselves to robotic rough out. Our team is one of the last with artisans capable of direct enlargement with compasses. Without this skill, much of what the robot roughs out would be impossible to finish carve accurately. The robot for us is a tool like a drill or a saw that has it’s uses when appropriate but like any tool has its limitations.

We work with the artist to modify the model for robotic carving to keep the process safe and enable the machine to cut close where it can, modifying fragile areas by adding volume to be carved away in the finishing stages. We scan models on site and prepare the file for the robotic team.

We help the artist design bases or plinths when needed and produce pinning methods appropriate for each work.

The sculpture is professionally packed and crated under our guidance and we organize shipping to destinations anywhere in the world.
